Mary Wade, US Communications Manager for Nestle, said Nestle chose Bridgewater for two reasons:

  • The region’s strong life-science activity as part of the East Coast’s bio-science corridor;
  • The Developer’s vision to re-develop the Bridgewater Center of Excellence campus to include a mix of corporate facilities, retail venues, hotel and residential apartments.

This new Product Technology Center will be part of Nestlé’s global R&D Network and will be dedicated to the Nestlé Health Science business, which focuses on advancing the role of nutrition in healthcare.

“The new Center will be 180,000 square feet and will bring together R&D and business teams to provide a wide range of product-specific R&D, science and technical expertise - all aimed at fueling the development of innovative nutritional therapies to improve people’s nutritional status, and make a positive impact on patient health outcomes and the health economy,” Wade said.

Overall the facility has hopes of attracting people to the area to increase tourism in Somerset County.

“There will be interesting, cool features added to property,” Kerwin said. “I think it will service not only Nestle but Bridgewater residents.”
