New Details On Person Found Dead In Delaware & Raritan Canal In Somerset County

The body of an adult man was pulled from the Delaware & Raritan Canal in South Bound Brook on March 22.

SOUTH BOUND BROOK, NJ — New details are being released after an adult man's body was pulled from the Delaware & Raritan Canal in South Bound Brook last month.

"A preliminary investigation is showing that this is potentially a non-suspicious death," said Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office(SCPO) Chief of County Detectives Frank Roman Jr. to Patch.

The final cause and manner of the death remain open until the SCPO receives the final medical examiner's report, said Roman Jr.

The identity of the man has been confirmed but authorities are hesitant to release the information out of respect for the family and since the death is being considered non-suspicious.
