Outpost BBQ Closes, Wild Burger To Open In Bridgewater

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Goodbye Nik’s 202 – Outpost Barbeque. Hello Wild Burger. The restaurant on Route 202 in Bridgewater is getting a full overhaul.

If you've driven by 3205 Route 202 on the border of Bridgewater and Branchburg you may have noticed the Outpost Barbeque sign has been removed and replaced with a Wild Burger sign.

"This location has been closed for general repair and renovations for the summer," a sign reads outside the former Outpost Barbeque restaurant. "Outpost BBQ can be enjoyed at our STAX location..."

Nik's Restaurant Group posted on the restaurant's Facebook page that they have moved their location and changed their name to a location nearby in the township at 3205 Route 22 East, across from the ShopRite shopping center. The new name is now called STAX organic eatery.

Additionally, the former Outpost BBQ location is in the process of being converted into a new concept called Wild Burger, which will still be owned by Nik's Restaurant Group, an employee at STAX confirmed.

This Nik's new burger place will most likely compete with Char's plans of opening Char Burger, a casual burger and ice cream joint right down the road on Route 202 and Milltown Road, where the former TD Bank is located. (See Related: Char To Open Casual Burger And Ice Cream Joint In Bridgewater)

It is unclear when Wild Burger plans on opening. Nik's Restaurant Group did not respond to Patch's request for comment on location.
