• Bridgewater OKs $2.95M For First Responder Radio Equipment (patch.com) — Bridgewater residents will see a major upgrade to local emergency communications after the Township Council unanimously approved a $2.95 million contract for new first responder radios. Officials say the purchase, funded through a larger bond, is needed to keep police, fire, rescue and public works connected under county system changes, with equipment expected to be in use by January. Council members also debated fair cost-sharing among fire districts and how the township will retain ownership of the radios.
