Pedestrian Identified In Fatal Rt. 22 Car Crash
Breaking: The pedestrian was fatally struck on Route 22 Sunday, the fourth killed on the same stretch since August, police said.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — The pedestrian , who was fatally struck on Route 22 on Sunday night, has been identified as Jose L. Espiridion, 38, of Hampton.
Espiridion marks the fourth killed on the same stretch of N.J. highway since August, police said.
Douglas Marino, 25, of Bridgewater was driving a 2015 Ford Mustang on Route 22 West near North Gaston Avenue in the center lane at around 11:55 p.m. on Jan. 15.

Espiridion was reportedly standing in the center lane when he was hit by Marino's car.
He was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, where he was pronounced dead.

This motor vehicle crash is still under investigation.
The crash is being investigated by the Bridgewater Township Police Department Traffic Safety Bureau and the Somerset County Accident Reconstruction Team. Any witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact Bridgewater Township Officer Kevin Lamey at 908-722- 4111 ext 4132.
A Bridgewater man, Marcus Cook, 25 was also fatally hit by a car in the same area on Dec. 18.
Two other pedestrians were also struck and killed on the same portion of Route 22 early in the morning on Aug. 25. Robert Gibbons, 29, and Magdalene Allen, 23, both of East Brunswick, were walking on Route 22 when they were struck by a 2004 Toyota Sienna driven by Xu Chengfei, 41, of Flushing New York, police said.
