Pokemon Go Craze Hits Somerset County: Find PokeStops, Gyms

Somerset County, NJ - Pokemon Go has arrived in New Jersey. Do you know where your local PokeStops are?
The infectious, smartphone-based game - which launched last week and has already made Nintendo more than $7 billion - challenges users to embark on a smartphone-based scavenger hunt and chase down virtual creatures known as Pokemon at real world locations.

In towns nationwide, developers have added “PokeStops” at destinations such as libraries, churches, public art installations, historical markers and monuments. An in-game item called a “Lure Module” attracts Pokemon to a PokeStop for 30 minutes, where the monsters become visible on their smartphones.

In the Somerset County area, several local institutions and businesses are already capitalizing on the potential publicity that’s resulting from the pop culture boom.

The Bernards Township Municipal Building, located at 1 Collyer Lane in Basking Ridge, is apparently a training gym.
