Raritan Man Gets Life In Prison For Murders of A Mother, Daughter

RARITAN, NJ — A Raritan man was sentenced to two consecutive life terms in prison for his role in connection with a double homicide of a mother and daughter in the borough in December 2015.

Ramon Cadiz, 54, of First Avenue, Raritan Borough was sentenced on Nov. 9 following his guilty plea to two counts of first-degree murder on Oct. 3. (See Related: Raritan Double Homicide Suspect Pleads Guilty To Murder)

Police responded to 46 First Ave. in Raritan on Dec. 11, 2015 at 3:15 p.m. after neighbors called regarding concerns for the welfare of the occupants of the residence.

Inside police found the dead body of 15-year-old Kim Streath on the second floor master bedroom and the dead body of Sandra Guiseppe, 51, on the first floor of the home, according to police.
Guiseppe is the mother of Streath and was Cadiz's girlfriend at the time.

Neighbors have reported the mother and daughter were planning on leaving Cadiz prior to the incident and claimed he beat the women to death with a hammer.

Detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes and Crime Scene Units responded to the scene with the Raritan Borough Police Department identified Cadiz as a suspect following an investigation.

A statewide police broadcast was issued for Cadiz and the vehicle he was believed to be driving.

He was located just before midnight on Dec. 12, 2015 in North Brunswick parked in a secluded area on Petunia Drive in the Colony Oaks Apartment Complex. At approximately 4 a.m. Somerset County detectives approached the vehicle and found Cadiz sleeping in the front driver's seat. He was arrested without incident.

Cadiz did have a prior history of being a convicted killer in connection with a 1991 murder in Cumberland County.
