School Board Candidates To Debate In Bridgewater-Raritan

The event, sponsored by the Council of School Associations, will be broadcast live on Thursday, Oct. 20 at 6 p.m.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Candidates vying for a seat on the Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School Board will debate on Thursday, Oct. 20 at the High School.

The Board of Education Candidates Night, which is sponsored by the Council of School Associations (CSA), will be aired live at 6 p.m.

There are seven candidates who seek the three open seats on the board of education to represent Bridgewater Township. There is one write-in candidate who bids for the one open seat and who will represent Raritan Borough.

The seven candidates who are running to represent Bridgewater are two incumbents Steven Singer and Lynne Hurley, also Sally Bartlett, Emily Calistri, Saad Toor, , Lanfang "Lucy" Li, and June Wang.

Jessica Ivan is running as a write-in candidate to fill the open seat that represents Raritan.

All candidates have been formally invited by the Council of School Associations to attend the event that will be staged in the 200 building at Bridgewater-Raritan High School at 600 Garretson Road.

According to Paula Wein and Minal Patel, the CSA Co-Presidents, two student moderators will present the questions while 10 students will run the AV equipment during the broadcast.

According to the CSA Co-Presidents, Candidates Night will be shown live at 6 p.m. on Cablevision Channel 15 and Verizon Channels 26 and 28. The shows will be aired three times daily on those channels until Nov. 8.
