Somerville High School to Host 35th Marching Band Home Show
Somerville High School Pioneer Marching Band and Color Guard will host their 35th Annual Marching Band Home Show on October 10th.

Somerville High School Pioneer Marching Band and Color Guard will host their 35th Annual Marching Band Home Show on October 10th at Somerville High School. There are 17 area bands scheduled to compete in the competition, including Immaculata and Bridgewater-Raritan High Schools. The competition is part of the USBands National Schedule. The competition starts at 4:25pm on Saturday and finishes with the awards Ceremony around 10pm. There will be food and beverages for sale at the Shack during the competition.
The Somerville Pioneer Marching Band will perform in exhibition at the competition as the host band. The marching band and color guard, total 135 students, and will perform their show “Quadrants”. Under the direction of Mr. Matthew Krempasky, they will compete this weekend at the USBands Yamaha Cup competition at MetLife Stadium. They will also compete at the USBands NJ State Championship at High Point Solutions Stadium at Rutgers University on October 31st as two out of the 6 competitions on their schedule.
The show is run by the Somerville High School Music Boosters Association, which is an organization made up of parents who volunteer to support the Music program at Somerville High School. Student groups which benefit from the Music Boosters’ efforts include all instrumental bands and ensembles, choirs, color guard, and the Pioneer Marching Band.
