BRIDGEWATER, NJ — A "swatting" call claiming there was a masked armed man at the Bridgewater train station prompted police to respond on Sunday morning.

On April 6 at 9:48 a.m., Bridgewater Police responded to the Bridgewater Train Station to investigate a 911 call reporting that a man was on the platform, wearing a mask and dressed in all black carrying a gun, said Bridgewater Police Lt. Douglas Thorsen to Patch.

The investigation revealed that the claims were unfounded and likely a "swatting" incident, said Thorsen.
