The threat that was rumored to take place on Sunday, October 20, was investigated by school administration, district security personnel, and local law enforcement and was deemed to not be a credible threat. Subsequent to this, there are various rumors circulating about potential threats on other dates in October, which were also determined to not be credible threats. Please know that we investigate all reports of potential threats and exercise all necessary caution to ensure the safety and security of all students and staff.”
"Unfortunately, rumors and misinformation began to circulate and were amplified via social media channels, creating a situation we attempted to avoid with our initial statement," said Beers on Monday.
Beers reminded the community that the Bridgewater Police Department deemed the incident as not credible, and the district is utilizing its code of conduct to address this matter.
