Warren Cops Intercept, Tactfully Block Stolen Truck And Arrest Driver

Daniel Oteng, 38, of Bronx, NY, was charged with third-degree receiving stolen property on Wednesday.

WARREN, NJ — Quick actions by Warren Township Police Officers netted the arrest of a Bronx man in a stolen pick-up truck, announced Warren Township Chief of Police Robert W. Ferreiro.

On Wednesday at around 10:15 a.m., officers received an Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) alert of a stolen Ford F-150 Raptor entering the Township.

Within seconds of receiving the alert, officers found the stolen vehicle and began surveilling it.

"Officers covertly followed the suspect vehicle to the intersection of Mount Bethel Road and Mountain Boulevard where additional officers were positioned to intercept it," said Ferreiro. "Through a coordinated effort, multiple officers were able to tactically block the suspect vehicle to prevent it from fleeing and posing any further risk to the public."

The driver, Daniel Oteng, age 38, of Bronx, NY, and a passenger were taken into custody without incident.

Oteng was charged with third-degree receiving stolen property. The passenger was released without charges.
