Mount St. Dominic Academy Student Leads Hurricane Relief Effort
Student-Led Initiative Collects Vital Supplies for Red Cross Relief Efforts
Mount St. Dominic Academy student Avery Cannataro '25 recently demonstrated her strong Dominican values by organizing a relief effort for those impacted by Hurricane Milton. Working with school administration, she encouraged students, staff, and faculty to donate medical supplies such as bandages, peroxide, and cloths, as well as warm clothing, hygiene products, and more. Avery will be delivering the donations to the Red Cross in Fairfield to support their relief efforts.
Reflecting on the Four Pillars of Dominican life—prayer, study, community, and mission —Avery shared, “Seeing all of the people affected by these storms on the news made me want to do something to help them."
