Primary Elections Tuesday In The Caldwells: Where, When To Vote

Essex County residents can vote in the primaries Tuesday including for candidates for Congress.

THE CALDWELLS, NJ — New Jersey's Primary Election Day is June 7. Some candidates are running unopposed in the June primaries, but supporters may still want to see their numbers.

In each of Caldwell, North Caldwell, and West Caldwell, candidates are running for mayor and council seats. The Democratic and Republican nominees will then face off for those seats in November. READ MORE: Mayor And Council Elections To Be Held In Each Of The Caldwells

Voters can cast a ballot by mail early or up until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 7. They can also vote at their polling place from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday.

Essex County has a list of dropbox locations to cast a paper ballot, which includes a municipal building or town hall in each of the Caldwells. See the full list here.

Congressional Races

Voters in Caldwell can cast a ballot in New Jersey's 10th Congressional District races. See more information here.

Voters in North Caldwell and West Caldwell can also cast a ballot in New Jersey's 11th Congressional District race this year.

That seat is currently held by Rep. Mikie Sherrill, a Democrat who first won in 2018. She will not face a primary challenge in June. However, there are five Republicans vying to challenge her in November.

The Republican candidates are Tayfun Selen, Paul DeGroot, Ruth McAndrew, Alexander R. Halter and Toby Anderson. Republican voters can choose one candidate on Tuesday who will face Sherrill in November.
