University Women of West Essex Award College Scholarships

The University Women of West Essex (UWWE) awarded two college scholarships in June 2022. A scholarship was awarded to Alexis Narine from James Caldwell High School and to Sophie Lozito from West Essex High School. The scholarships this year were given in memory of UWWE members Joan Borneman, Sandra Harvey, Maureen Mingle, Mimi Page and Connie Shick.

During the past two years of COVID-19, UWWE members have continued to keep in touch via Zoom meetings, social media and small group gatherings. The UWWE group continues to be committed to its mission to support the college education of young women. Since its inception, the UWWE has awarded many scholarships through funds raised from its fellowship activities and donated by members. The UWWE welcomes new members to be a part of this caring community of women who support each other, are life-long learners, have fun together, and raise funds for college scholarships.
