UPDATED: Water Main Breaks In North Caldwell, Disruptions Expected
Water service disruption and "discoloration" is likely throughout the afternoon and into the evening on Saturday.
NORTH CALDWELL, NJ -- Two water main breaks in North Caldwell are expected to cause service disruptions for nearby residents on Saturday, town officials say.
Borough officials issued the following advisory at 1:12 p.m.:
"The North Caldwell Water Department will be performing water main repairs in the vicinity of 31 White Oak Drive. The road will be closed, and open to local traffic only. For the safety of vehicle passengers and the men working please do not drive through any road closure. Water service disruption is likely throughout the afternoon and into the evening. Please expect discoloration once water service is restored; run faucets until water runs clear."
"Thank you in advance for your patience as repairs are made," borough officials said.

Another water main break was reported at 2:59 p.m.:
"The North Caldwell Water Department will be performing water main repairs in the vicinity of Acorn Pl/Deer Trail Rd. Roads will be closed, and open to local traffic only. For the safety of vehicle passengers and the men working please do not drive through any road closure. Water service disruption is likely throughout the afternoon and into the evening. Please expect discoloration once water service is restored; run faucets until water runs clear. Thank you in advance for your patience as repairs are made."
