Exceptional Glass
If you've been shopping around. you'll find that some companies use only 3/8" glass and some 1/2".3/8" tempered glass is the most popularly used in regards to Frameless Shower Enclosure (Depending on size).
While some others place themselves in the "luxury" bracket by using 1/2" for all their enclosures.Let's think of it logically, instead of going by what sales reps will tell you.
The thicker the glass, the more weight it can hold.
The difference of strength between 3/8" and 1/2" is nominal.
1/2" glass should be used predominantly to accommodate the weight of another.
For example, You need an Inline Frameless Enclosure, (Has three tiled walls in the stall) and there's a darn toilet or towel bar right in front of where you'd like the door to be. Applying a 1/2" stationary panel in front of the obstacle to hinge a door onto is the way to go.Other aspects to use 1/2" glass is for looks or cosmetic preferences. But remember, the thicker the glass, the more greenish tint you'll see. (Unless the pricey Ultrawhite is used)
