Chatham Student Named As $10K Davidson Fellow Scholarship Recipient
The Harvard-bound student was one of 20 nationwide to be recognized for her work.

CHATHAM, NJ — Recent Chatham graduate Nishita Sinha, 18, has been awarded a $10,000 Davidson Fellows Scholarship for her project focusing on sanitation.
Sinha's project, "Experimental Studies In Developing Safe Sanitation Solutions," focused on ways to bring a safe and sustainable toilet option to developing countries. So far, 200 of her toilets have been installed in village homes in India.
“Being named as a Davidson Fellow is extremely exciting for me and I am really looking forward to becoming a part of the amazing Davidson Fellows community,” said Sinha.

Sinha heads to Harvard next, where she plans on studying physics and electrical engineering with a focus on applications to biological and environmental sciences. She hopes to start a nonprofit focused on sanitation conditions globally when she graduates college.
When not focusing on school, Sinha enjoys writing, volunteering with the Girl Scouts, rock climbing and playing the piano.

The Davidson Fellows Scholarship is awarded by the Davidson Institute for Talent Development to students 18 and younger "who have completed significant projects that have the potential to benefit society in the fields of science, technology, engineering, mathematics, literature and music."
