Lead off hitter Michael Vintzel grabbed his new travel baseball uniform, jumped into his manager's pickup truck and changed into his sparking new uniform. He ran onto the field, reached base three times, and helped lead the Chatham White 12U Summer Travel Baseball team to a 16-9 victory in the opening game of the 2014 season at Ridge. Vintzel, Thomas Wolf, Anthony Gonzalez and Willie Kelly all had multi-hit games for Chatham. On the road, Liam Holland, Matthew Patterson, Sam Richardson, Vintzel and AJ Petruska all took a turn on the mound. The defensive highlight of the day for Chatham was the rare 9-3-5 double play by Gonzalez, Kelly and Ben Prill. The Chatham White team takes to the road at Long Hill Sunday morning at 1030 before completing their aggressive early season schedule at home Tuesday night, June 11th at Shunpike 2 against New Providence.
