Mozart Requiem, made possible by a grant from the Chatham Education Foundation, will be a historic moment for the CHS Music Department as a performance of this magnitude has never been done in the School District of the Chathams. Mozart Requiem, a choral masterpiece, was written as Mozart’s health was deteriorating in 1791. Approached by a mysterious stranger to compose the requiem, Mozart threw himself into the work. However, he died before its completion. This iconic piece is both stirring and emotional – a classical piece to be enjoyed by all.
