Like many of us on the Chatham Emergency Squad, we put in so many hours to become an EMT, train and hone our skills and then countless more hours to serve the Chatham community. Among many, Craig is someone who regularly drops whatever he’s doing to respond to 2nd or 3rd calls, going above and beyond to help Chatham residents during their time of need, while somehow juggling the daily responsibility of raising a family and running his own business.

Craig’s experience in maintaining the ambulances for the Squad and being a member of the board of Trustees, makes him a valuable resource to the Chatham Township Committee in the area of public safety, but I’d like to talk to you about another critical need that Craig brings to the table - Communications.

When I was the VP of Communications, Craig served as my public relations manager. He immediately made an impact by elevating the Squad’s profile within the community and personally wrote numerous stories that were published in TapIntoChatham, Patch, Chatham Living Magazine, The Chathams and the Chatham Courier. Most impressively, Craig served on the front lines during the Covid pandemic and also played a vital role behind-the-scenes communicating the Squad’s message during this stressful time. Over several years, he told our story effectively and elevated our messaging- and even built us a new website that has been instrumental in driving online donations and attracting new members to join our squad. He remains highly active and still maintains the website today, among his many other roles and responsibilities for the Squad.

I’m proud to serve alongside Craig in the field - I have been on many 911 calls with him, some of which have been extremely difficult situations where Craig always shows leadership and compassion. When working with Craig on scene, you can always feel comfortable knowing he has your back.

So let’s have his this November. Please join me in supporting Craig Alperowitz for Chatham Township Committee - a trusted leader who I’m proud to call my friend.
