Mick said, “I had no idea when I took an art class at a local art center twenty five years ago what I was setting in motion, the direction I was going in and where I would end up. This has lead me to exhibit my paintings in galleries on the east coast and to teaching art for the last fifteen years while sharing my journey of self-discovery with my students.”

One day in class, she was trying to get her students to loosen up and to work with less detail. She started demonstrating small pieces done in acrylic with just her hands, no brushes. The next thing she knew she had 49 pieces, which led to the concept of 49 for $49 each. In so doing she realized that art appreciators could afford to own an original piece of art. This is a concept that has been successful in other venues.
Mick’s Artist Statement says, "Astounding atmospheric qualities enrich the sublime in nature, and this is my intention - to simplify and capture. There is a complicated process involving quiet observation, passionate reaction and active participation.”
