Gerber HQ Leaving Florham Park, Heading To Virginia
The baby food maker announced they're leaving the Garden State starting in January 2019.

FLORHAM PARK, NJ — Gerber's growing up: the baby food company has announced that it will leave Florham Park for Arlington, Virginia.
The transition will begin in January 2019, the company said in a press release. The goal is to be closer to Nestlé USA's corporate headquarters, which is also in Arlington.
“Keeping pace with the rapid changes in how consumers eat, shop and engage with brands, we have been assessing our business so that we become more agile, efficient and innovative in an increasingly competitive marketplace,” said Bill Partyka, President and CEO of Gerber. “Closer proximity to Nestlé USA’s new headquarters will provide efficiencies that will be reinvested in our people, products and production to fuel growth.”

Most Florham Park employees will be offered relocation; severance and "outplacement support" will be given to employees who aren't offered relocation or are laid off. The move will mostly affected corporate employees, and will not affect manufacturing.
“We are committed to supporting all of our employees through this process,” said Partyka. “Employees are receiving advance notification to allow them to plan for relocation. The transition will be executed over more than a year-long period which is expected to minimize any disruptions to our colleagues and the Gerber businesses.”
