Going Bald for St. Baldrick's Event

The students of St. Patrick School never fail to amaze with their compassion for others. A group of students are pledging to shave their heads to raise money for The St. Baldrick's Foundation which funds childhood cancer research. The event will take place on Friday March 14 at 3:00 at Charlie's Aunt in Chatham. The "shavees" will march from the school to the location accompanied by bagpipers and the Chatham Police Department.   To date the students have raised $35,000.

The project was started by three brothers last year. Inspired by their Dad’s battle with cancer, brothers Drew (’12), Joey and Christian Rosowicz participated on their own last year. This year the boys will be joined by friends from St. Patrick School, including the 5th grade boys basketball team. The one brave girl to sign up is Erin Vostal who will shave her long blond hair. Another special participant is fifth grade student Josh Fernandez. Josh, spurred by his own long term illness has joined the team to help other children going through hospitalizations and treatments.
