Lifetime Achievement: Shifu Hayashi Tomio of Madison Area YMCA

Shifu Hayashi Tomio, author, Buddhist monk, 8th degree black belt and career teacher, has been named a 2019 Lifetime Achievement Award recipient by Marquis Who's Who. Only 5% of Marquis Who's Who listees are selected for this honor. Hayashi is an author of seven martial arts books and a frequent contributor to the national martial art community. Practitioners of isshinryu karate should be particularly interested as Hayashi has 50 years of experience in Okinawan karate study.
