New Programs Coming to Senior Center of the Chathams Next Week

Pickleball, Social Dancing and Beekeeping are all offered next week at Senior Center of the Chathams. All are welcome.

Senior Center of the Chathams, located at 58 Meyersville Rd, Chatham Township, has several new programs starting next week. Participants do not need to be residents of the Chathams to participate.

WISE- A 6-part, free wellness program about healthy aging begins on Monday, Sept. 18 at 11:30. It will explore various topics such as stress management, how to recognize the signs of depression, communicating effectively with your primary care provider, and safe use of medications. Lunch is also provided at no charge. To register, please call 973.635.4565.

On Tuesday, Sept. 19th from 1- 3 pm The Social Dancing program will have a free Open House with a demo by new instructor Robert Sweeney who is a dance instructor and social dancing competition judge with 30 years of experience.

On Thursday Sept 21 from 12:00-12:30 pm There will be a question and answer presentation about the Redevelopment of Downtown Chatham Borough with Vicki Fife, council president and Steve Williams Acting Borough Adminsitrator. A movie, “Going in Style” will follow the presentation.

On Friday, Sept. 22 at 12:30 Adele Barrie presents a program on Beekeeping. Learn more about the honeybee’s vital role in NJ agriculture and the art of beekeeping. This event is free and will be followed by honey tastings and honey-sweetened desserts. Advance sign up required as seating is limited.
