A WORD ABOUT STABILITY
To the Editor,
I’m baffled, even saddened, by those who disparage the stability and credibility of a community like ours, both Chatham Township and Chatham Borough, with frenzied clamor for Change.

To what end, I ask? To wrestle and wrangle for a seat on one of our presently thoughtful and honest municipal governing councils?
I’d like to say a word to our newer residents, our young families who are making arguably their largest financial commitment to date: You’ve made a great choice moving to The Chathams and setting down roots. We hope you will be happy here for many years to come!

We “older” residents consider it a badge to have kept this community of Chatham Township and Chatham Borough safe, stable, and ranked nationally on a myriad of “Quality of Life” matters.
We take pride in handing off to you a community of optimistic residents, one which boasts of Aaa bond ratings, stable municipal tax bases, highly successful public schools and enviable private school options, and the support of one of the most well-run Counties in NJ if not the United States.
We know you have made the decision to become Chatham-ites with a serious look through what I call the “K through 12” Lens, which has helped you choose this community as a place to raise your kids and watch them succeed, and hopefully return to, as so many of us do.
Your small-town local governments prize and hope to protect this stability. We wish to offer you predictability in the face of the chaotic headwinds that are everywhere in New Jersey and through-out the Tri-State. We work hard for it and for you. Our goal is to continue this record of stability, predictability and success on these many levels.
Please join us in this goal. This Tuesday, November 6th, choose to do so by voting for the re-election of Kevin Sullivan in Chatham Township, and Peter Hoffman and Len Resto in Chatham Borough.
You will show you hope for these things this as well.
Respectfully,
Karen Swartz
Chatham Township, NJ
