St. Patrick School Students Participate in Bake for Good

STEM / Community Service Program

On Friday November 3rd students in grades 4-8 participated in the Bake for Good: Kids Program, which utilized STEM-related skills to bake bread for local community members in need. The King Arthur Flour Company provided a representative to demonstrate the art of bread baking, teaching relevant measurement concepts as the foundation of the process, and generously donated baking materials to the students, who then baked loaves of bread at home. The students returned to school on Monday, November 6th having produced over 100 loaves of fresh bread.

Led by the St. Patrick School Kiwanis Builders Club, a student-led community service organization, and guided by elementary school teacher Mrs. Julie Moran, the loaves of bread were donated to The New Jersey Morristown Mission.

St. Patrick School was proud to participate in The Bake for Good: Kids Program, which taught students valuable science and math skills as part of the bread baking process, and provided valuable service for people in need through The New Jersey Morristown Mission.
