Statement from Mathiasen and Hay Campaign Regarding Campaign Signs

"vandalism often has the opposite of the intended effect"

Signs Removed (Mathiasen and Hay Campaign)

During this especially heated election season, it is incumbent upon all residents to do their part in maintaining a respectful atmosphere among neighbors, even when we differ politically.

Both sides have reported theft and vandalism of campaign signs both in public places and on private property. Such vandalism reflects poorly on the individuals committing it, and also often has the opposite of the intended effect by making one side look petty or destructive.

Above all we are all neighbors and we should never forget that.

We ask all residents to respect free speech and the political process by not vandalizing or stealing signs for ANY campaign. Election day will be here soon, and the signs will be collected by their respective campaigns as required by law.

Sincerely and with respect,
