Chatham Council Switches Redevelopers In Post Office Plaza Renovation

Chatham Borough officials called a special meeting to discuss the Post Office Plaza development before unanimously passing a resolution to change the project's planned redeveloper. During the meeting on Wednesday evening, Mayor Thaddeus Kobylarz named Bergen County United Way as the new redeveloper for Post Office Plaza, replacing the previously named Nouvelle LLC.

Gazebo Concert Series Continues In Chatham This Summer

Chatham Borough will provide free entertainment at the Reasoner Park gazebo. On June 23, the park will once again be filled with the sound of music as the annual Summer Concerts Series returns. The borough redesigned the area last summer, adding six picnic tables and decorative lights to create a pleasant environment for patrons getting takeout from local restaurants.

New Technology Will Livestream 911 Calls To Chatham Borough Police

The Chatham Borough Police Department can now listen in on 911 calls in real-time, making them the first in Morris County to use potentially game-changing emergency response software. The new software, called Live 911, allows police to listen in on 911 calls as they happen as well as see where the calls are coming from on a Google Earth-like map.

Chatham police have issued a warning to residents about an increase in scam attempts targeting FirstEnergy customers. In the two most common scams, individuals appear at the door or over the phone, claiming to be from one of FirstEnergy's utility companies. Scammers frequently work in pairs, are persistent, and use a variety of excuses to obtain personal information, officials said.
