Vote for Abbott and Kelly

In the June 3 Republican Primary Election, Chatham Township voters should seriously consider voting for Kathy Abbott and Mike Kelly.  Kathy is a hard-working enthusiastic advocate for safe routes to schools and has participated in the Municipal Alliance Committee of the Chathams, which deals with drug, alcohol, and mental health issues in our community; in the PTOs for the School District of the Chathams; and with Education Counts in getting out the vote for the April school budget election.  Mike Kelly balances the ticket with his long experience as former owner and editor of the Independent Press, covering municipal government in many local towns.  When necessary, both Kathy and Mike are available to work virtually full time with Township government on key issues.  Both see a need for improved Township financial reporting.

One area where many residents would like to see the Township become more active is in support of our children and young adults. Kathy and Mike participated in recent briefings about mental health, alcohol, and drug abuse among children and young adults in our community, and they will be educated voices as the Township Committee addresses these issues. For instance, an organization called “Project Community Pride” provides much needed assistance in the community, and Chatham Township should support this organization, joining Chatham Borough and the School District of the Chathams.

For all of the above reasons and more, Kathy Abbott and Mike Kelly deserve community support in the Tuesday, June 3 election.
