SCARY BOOK SALE

In the spirit of upcoming Halloween, if you could use more scare in your life, come to the library on Tuesday, October 23! The Friends of The Library will hold a sale of spooky books and DVDs for children, teens and adults. All titles $2 each! See details in the listings below.

Ⓒ Storytime

Storytime is an 8-week, progressive program for preschoolers and their caregivers.

Registration required

24 months and younger – 9:45 am

4 to 6 years – 10:15 am

2 to 3 years – 11 am

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 23

Scary Book Sale – 10 am to 4 pm

The Friends of The Library will hold a book sale in the area in front of the library’s circulation desk. All titles will sell for $2 each. Included in the sale will be children’s Halloween books, spooky young adult novels, Lincoln Child and Douglas Preston thriller novels, and Halloween DVDs.

Ⓐ Italian Conversation Group – 7:15 pm

Luciana Santoriello will moderate Italian discussion groups with help from other fluent speakers.

Wednesdays, October 10, 17 & 24. Ages 6 and up. Registration required.

Sew a cute PJ Masks Owlette doll in this three-week class.

Ⓐ Cybersecurity: Our Risks on the Internet – 7 pm

John McGrath, Chatham resident and cybersecurity management consultant with Compass Point Planning & Management, will discuss how the Internet has created new security risks in our personal and professional lives; changed the operations of business and government; and affected the stability of global relations.

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 25

Ⓒ Bob Conrad Music and Puppets – 10 or 10:45 am

For preschoolers and their caregivers

A fun, funny puppet and magic show perfect for preschoolers!

Ⓐ ESL Lunch Hour – 12:30 to 1:30 pm

For ESL students. To get even more practice in English conversation, and to get to know your fellow students, bring your own lunch and enjoy it in the company of other students and tutors!

Ⓐ English as a Second Language (ESL) – 1:30 to 2:30 pm

Thursdays, September 13 through November 1

This 8-week series of classes is for everyone who wants to improve their English language skills. Students are divided into small groups by skill level. Books and other learning materials will be provided. The program is free – all you need is a commitment to learn!

Ⓐ Cinema214: Mamma Mia!: Here We Go Again (PG-13, 114 min.) – 7 pm

In 1979 young Donna, Tanya, and Rosie graduate from Oxford University, leaving Donna free to embark on a series of adventures throughout Europe. Are you a chess player looking for partners and a comfortable place to play close to home? This club is for you! Enjoy a game of chess on a Saturday afternoon twice a month. We provide chess boards and pieces, and even a chess clock! No registration required.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 28

Ⓒ Legopalooza! – 2:30 to 4 pm

All Ages

Build your own LEGO creation from our enormous collection of LEGOs. All creations will be put on display in the Children’s Room.
