After Cooper River Search, No Evidence Man Jumped In: Pennsauken FD
A caller reported seeing someone jump into the water Friday afternoon. After a search, fire officials determined there was no one in danger.
PENNSAUKEN, NJ — A water rescue on the Cooper River in Pennsauken showed no evidence of anyone having jumped in the water, officials said.
Pennsauken Fire Chief Jon Hutton said the fire department was dispatched to the river at 1:05 p.m. Friday, near North Park Drive and Route 130.
"There was an unconfirmed report a male jumped in the water," said Hutton.

A driver called first responders said they had lost sight of a man who was walking along the river, and that he may have jumped in, Hutton said.
Rescue swimmers and divers searched the water with boats also dispatched, and first responders used sonar to search the water while looking on land, as well.

Westmont Fire Company No. 1, Cherry Hill Fire Department, Bellmawr Fire Department, Collingswood Fire Department and the Camden County Office of Emergency Management assisted with the rescue, according to Camden County IAFF Local 3249.
"Based on searches we conducted, there was no indication he was in the water," said Hutton.
