Alzheimer’s Association South Jersey Golf Classic Tees Off Sept. 12

The Alzheimer’s Association Delaware Valley Chapter will honor two local champions in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease during its 21st Annual Southern New Jersey Golf Classic golf tournament. Golfers and other guests will tee off in support of this disease that as yet has no cure on Monday, Sept. 12, 2022 at Laurel Creek Country Club in Mount Laurel, N.J. Bob Conover and Chantal Capodicasa will be saluted for their long-time philanthropic efforts to support the mission of creating a world without Alzheimer’s disease and all other dementia. Mr. Conover, of Somers Point, N.J., is a founding member of Mission for Margie, a team of family and friends who raise funds and participate in the South Jersey ShoreWalk to End Alzheimer’s. Founded 24 years ago to honor his late wife, who battled Alzheimer’s for more than a decade, Team Mission for Margie this year will mark more than $500,000 raised. Additionally, Mr. Conover has served on the Alzheimer’s Association Delaware Valley Board of Directors and raised more than $100,000 to support the Southern New Jersey Golf Classic and the Chapter’s Party in Purple Gala, along with his own contributions.

Chantal Capodicasa, a Senior Vice President for TD Bank, lost her grandmother in 2015 and joined the fight against Alzheimer’s disease in her honor. However, her commitment to giving back goes well beyond Alzheimer’s Association: she currently serves on the Boards for the Burlington County Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Princeton Regional Chamber of Commerce (Treasurer), the YMCA of the Pines, and is the President of the Medford Business Association. She previously served on the Board for the NJ State Veterans Chamber of Commerce, the United Way of Greater Mercer County, and the Mid-Jersey Chamber of Commerce. Ms. Capodicasa also volunteers as a foster for the Burlington County Animal Alliance and is a coach for the Medford Youth Athletic Association boys track team. Ms. Capodicasa lives in Medford, NJ with her husband U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Michael Capodicasa and their two young boys.
