Fleeing Camden Co. Bank Robber Crashes Moving Van Into Police Cars: Prosecutor

His escape vehicle — a U-Haul van — became inoperable after the collision, authorities said.

PENNSAUKEN, NJ — A bank robber's attempted escape ended when he crashed a moving van into several police vehicles Tuesday in Pennsauken, officials said.

Kevin Allure's escape vehicle — a U-Haul van — became inoperable when he crashed into three police cars, according to the Camden County Prosecutor's Office (CCPO). He fled the van on foot before police apprehended him, authorities said.

Previously, police received a 911 call just before 4:40 p.m. about a robbery at TD Bank. The suspect — later identified as Allure — passed a demand note and threatened bank employees before receiving an undisclosed amount of money and fleeing the scene, the CCPO said.

Shortly after, officers found Allure driving a U-Haul van and attempted to stop him. The Philadelphia man crashed into their cars before his van became inoperable on Haines Road, near John Tipton Boulevard, officials said.

Two officers sustained non-life-threatening injuries from the crash, according to the CCPO.
