Cherry Hill Piano Standout Selected for Virtuoso Master Class

The Philharmonic of Southern New Jersey will host a free piano master class taught by world-renowned pianist and Eastman School of Music professor Marina Lomazov on Saturday, March 16, at 11 am at Cunningham Piano Company, located at 1724A Marlton Pike East, Cherry Hill, NJ.

The master class will showcase the talents of three outstanding local piano students, among them, Cherry Hill East sophomore Daniel Cezair.

Danny began piano lessons at the age of 4 and picked up the violin at 11. The 16-year-old today is an active member of the Marching Band and serves on the board of EMC, a student-led charity supporting music education in Cherry Hill elementary schools. His accompanies various school choral groups, participates in High School Musical on piano, and is a member of the South Jersey Orchestra, all while maintaining a spot on the Student Honor Roll. A veteran of numerous piano competitions, Danny devotes summer weeks to study at the prestigious Philadelphia International Music Camp and Festival, featuring members of The Philadelphia Orchestra.

He and the other promising musicians selected for the master class will perform and receive focused personalized guidance and insights from Ms. Lomazov. Music students, aspiring pianists, and music enthusiasts are invited to join the class to learn and be inspired by a distinguished figure in the world of classical music.

"Working with Marina Lomazov will be the chance of a lifetime for these ambitious students to learn from one of the world's finest pianists, right here in Cherry Hill."

About Marina Lomazov:

Before immigrating to the United States, acclaimed concert pianist Marina Lomazov studied at the Kiev Conservatory where she became the youngest First Prize Winner at the all- Kiev Piano Competition. Ms. Lomazov holds degrees from the Juilliard School and the Eastman School of Music, where she was recognized with the highly coveted "Artist’s Certificate," and where she is a Professor of Piano today.

Ms. Lomazov joins the Philharmonic of Southern New Jersey on Sunday, March 17, 2024 to perform George Gerswhin's Rhapsody in Blue. The concert, Rhapsody in Blue at 100, will celebrate the centennial of Gershwin’s iconic composition and will highlight the musical heritage and influences of Ukraine.

Pre-concert activities begin at 2:00pm.
