Cherry Hill Swimmer Earns College Sports Honor
Kevin Gillooly, a Rowan University sophomore, was named the NJAC Men's Swimmer of the Week.

CHERRY HILL, NJ — A Rowan University sophomore swimmer from Cherry Hill was named New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Athlete of the Week this week, the university announced. Cherry Hill High School East alum Kevin Gillooly was selected the NJAC Men’s Swimmer of the Week on Monday, Oct. 22.
Against New York University (NYU), Gillooly won the 100 backstroke with a time of 52.27. He came in second in the 50 free (21.19) and 200 backstroke (1:55.15).
In the same meet, diver Chad Shire (jr. Mullica Hill, NJ/Kingsway Reg.) totaled 296.78 points in the one-meter diving for first place. He had a second place on the three-meter board with 317.78 points. Yanagisawa finished third in the 1000 (9:54.96) and 500 (4:53.26) freestyles. He also took fourth (1:59.54) in the 200 butterfly. He was named the NJAC Men’s Diver of the Week.
