‘Complete Renovation’ Coming To 3 Cherry Hill Playgrounds
Grants from Camden County will cover the costs, the township's mayor tells Patch.

CHERRY HILL – Improvements are coming to three of Cherry Hill’s playgrounds in the near future, the township’s mayor told Patch.
“Each of the playgrounds is getting a complete renovation as part of our annual park replacement plan,” Cherry Hill Mayor Susan Shin Angulo told Patch.
“Since many of our parks were established over 25 years ago, this plan brings new life to our parks by removing and replacing outdated equipment, as well as adding underdrain improvements to address issues with ponding and stagnant water.”

The three parks slated to receive these improvements are the Sandringham Playground Facility, the Erlton Playground Facility and the Barclay Farmstead Playground Facility, according to resolutions passed at a recent township meeting.
The locations were chosen based on their “current repair needs and … feedback received from the community throughout the year,” Shin Angelo said.

“Our [playgrounds] are the heartbeats of our neighborhoods, serving as community hubs that help keep us connected to our neighbors, family and friends,” she continued. When we invest in these parks, we are investing in our neighborhoods, our children and families and a quality of life that makes Cherry Hill the premier destination to live in South Jersey.”
Grants from Camden County’s Open Space, Farmland, Recreation and Historic Preservation Trust will cover the cost of the playground improvements, according to Shin Angulo.
The township hopes to begin the improvements early next year, she said.
