Driver Was High In Crash That Killed Cherry Hill Woman, Police Say

Police have charged a man with vehicular homicide after a crash in Gloucester County that killed a Camden girls' basketball coach.

CHERRY HILL, NJ — Authorities say the driver in a South Jersey crash that killed a Camden girls' basketball coach was under the influence of marijuana, a report said.

The one-car crash on June 4 in Glassboro killed 21-year-old passenger Cire' Forman. Officials said she was ejected from the car after it went off the road, hit a fire hydrant, and rolled over.

Forman, a 2019 Camden Catholic High School graduate, was coaching the freshman girl's basketball team at her alma mater while attending Rowan College Burlington County, according to Camden Catholic. She was from Cherry Hill.

Police charged the driver, Jamal N. Reed of Cherry Hill in connection with the crash, according to NJ Advance Media.

Salem County Correctional Facility records show Reed, 21, faces a charge of vehicular homicide and two charges of strict liability vehicular homicide. He was booked on Dec. 4, records show.

Police said Reed had THC levels in his blood that made him unfit to drive safely and reflected amounts capable of impairing someone, according to NJ Advance Media. He has a detention hearing scheduled Thursday, the report said.
