Fugitive in Cherry Hill Shooting Captured in Georgia: Police

Kevin Fentress was arrested at an acquaintance's home in Marietta, Georgia, Friday morning.

A Burlington City man who was wanted for his role in a Cherry Hill homicide has been captured in Georgia, Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Cherry Hill Police Chief William Monaghan said Friday night.

Kevin Fentress, 21, was arrested without incident at about 11:32 a.m. Friday morning at an acquaintance’s home in Marietta, Georgia, by members of the U.S. Marshals Service Regional Fugitive Task Force – Camden Division and Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force – Atlanta Division.

The investigation spanned New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Ohio before ending in Georgia.

Fentress is currently being held in Georgia and is awaiting extradition to New Jersey.

He is accused of fatally shooting 17-year-old Jadyre Gordon, of Camden, outside the Inn of the Dove in Cherry Hill in February.

Gordon and a 20-year-old Willingboro man were shot while inside a car in the parking lot near the front entrance of the Inn of the Dove complex, located at 725 Cuthbert Boulevard at about 2:24 a.m. on Feb. 28.

While en route to the scene, police learned that the two people had been taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Camden in a private vehicle.

Gordon was transported from Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital to Cooper University Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at 3:37 a.m.

The other man was treated at Our Lady of Lourdes and later released.

Police believe the shooting was the result of an altercation during a party in one of the rooms.
