Girl Scouts Donate 8,400 Boxes of Girl Scout Cookies MD Anderson

The Girl Scouts of Central and Southern New Jersey (GSCSNJ) proudly shared a heartfelt gesture to honor the commitment and dedication of healthcare professionals at Cooper University Health Care and MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper. In gratitude, GSCSNJ will present 8,400 boxes of their iconic Girl Scout Cookies to their frontline team members to enjoy.

Ginny Hill, CEO of GSCSNJ, and Girl Scouts presented Toni Abassi, Vice President of Cancer Institute Strategy of MD Anderson at Cooper, along with representatives from The Cooper Foundation, with an initial 600 boxes of cookies for the entire staff. The remaining 7,800 boxes will be delivered to the hospital on Friday, June 21, and distributed to all employees.

In fact, as we left, Fran Lee, one of the dedicated healthcare team members, thanked us for creating an afternoon of joy and smiles at the Cancer Center. She shared that they rarely experience such widespread joy across campus and expressed her gratitude to the Girl Scouts.
“The Girl Scouts are deeply grateful for the unwavering dedication of the healthcare workers at Cooper and MD Anderson at Cooper,” said Ginny Hill, CEO of the Girl Scouts of Central and Southern New Jersey. “Their commitment to their patients and the community is truly inspiring, and we hope this small token of our appreciation brings a smile to their faces.”

“The support from MD Anderson at Cooper has been instrumental in empowering our Girl Scouts,” continued Hill. “Their involvement in the STEMinist program has provided invaluable experiences that will inspire these young women for years to come.”

Girl Scouts from Camden Troop 30077, Aubry Freeman, Christina Rosendary, Angel Rosendary, and J’Nya Pennington, joined Ginny Hill in the presentation.

Earlier this year, MD Anderson at Coopers played a pivotal role in GSCSNJ’s STEMinist program, dedicating time and resources educating Camden City Girl Scouts about STEM careers and opportunities in healthcare.
