Jefferson Hospital Cherry Hill Gets A Grade For Safety, Care
Jefferson Hospital in Cherry Hill received an "A" from the Leapfrog Group for protecting patients from and providing safe health care.
CHERRY HILL, NJ — Jefferson Hospital in Cherry Hill received an “A” from the Leapfrog Group for protecting patients from and providing safe health care, the health care system announced this week.
Jefferson hospitals in Washington Township and Stratford also earned “A” grades in the fall 2020Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade, a national distinction.
The Leapfrog Group is an independent national watchdog organization committed to health care quality and safety. The Safety Grade assigns an ‘A’, ‘B’, ‘C’, ‘D’ or ‘F’ grade to all general hospitals across the country and is updated every six months. It is based on a hospital’s performance in preventing medical errors, injuries, accidents, infections and other harm to patients in their care.

“At a time when healthcare organizations are more vital than ever, we are especially honored to be recognized for our ongoing commitment to safety,” Jefferson New Jersey President Brian Sweeney said. “It is especially gratifying to have all three of our acute care hospitals reach this level of achievement. We are proud of our physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff who have deployed best practice systems and processes to achieve stellar clinical outcomes for our patients.”

Developed under the guidance of a national expert panel, the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade uses up to 27 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to assign grades to more than 2,600 U.S. acute-care hospitals twice per year. The Hospital Safety Grade’s methodology is peer-reviewed and fully transparent, and the results are free to the public.
Jefferson Cherry Hill Hospital, Jefferson Stratford Hospital and Jefferson Washington Township Hospital were each awarded an ‘A’ grade today when Leapfrog updated grades for fall 2020.
