New Cherry Hill Officers Catch Attempted Carjacker: Police
The suspect was nabbed while fleeing the scene thanks to the newly appointed officers' 'quick and decisive' actions, the police chief said.
CHERRY HILL, NJ — A man was arrested shortly after an attempted carjacking Feb. 10 in Cherry Hill, police said.
Paul Adams, 23, was caught while fleeing the scene thanks to the "quick and decisive" actions of two newly appointed officers, said Cherry Hill Police Chief Robert Kempf.
At about 7:15 p.m. Feb. 10, a driver reported that he was the victim of an attempted carjacking. The victim told police that a lone male suspect approached his vehicle while he was stuck in traffic and yelled at him to get out of the car.

The suspect, later identified as Adams, then attempted to open the door and remove the victim from the vehicle, police said. The victim pulled away and flagged down Officer Maximillian Schwetje, who was handling an unrelated call for service nearby.
After Schwetje relayed the information to other law enforcement, Officer Jared Colbert found Adams fleeing northbound at a parking lot just off Brace Road, police said.
