Park Improvements Coming To Cherry Hill
The upgrades are part of a $100 million overhaul to Camden County's parks system, Camden County's Board of Commissioners said.
CHERRY HILL, NJ — Challenge Grove Park, Cooper River Park and Wallworth Park — parts of which fall within Cherry Hill — will soon undergo improvements, the Camden County Board of Commissioners said in a press release dated April 28.
The upgrades are part of a $100 million overhaul the commissioners said they have committed to Camden County's parks, the commissioners said.
No new levies or taxes will be imposed to finance the improvements, Camden County said.

Systemwide, the "projects will address a variety of concerns" at the parks, said Camden County Commissioner Jeff Nash. "By the time these projects are complete, our county’s parks will be a place for everyone, from every walk of life to enjoy."
The improvements to all three parks include the following.

- American Disabilities with Act enhancements.
- Maintenance and infrastructure improvements.
- Development of a historical building and stone structure restoration plan.
Enhancements to Challenge Grove Park include the following.
- Baseball infield improvements.
- Parking and field repairs.
- Picnic tables and bench replacements.
- Trail improvements.
- Jake’s Place upgrades.
Improvements to Cooper River Park include the following.
- Construction of a Victims of Terrorism Memorial.
- Upgrading of parking lots, picnic areas, pavilion and gazebo.
- Revitalizing Veteran's Island trails.
- Enhancing the Memorial Area Walkway and Hadrosaurus Foulkii Trail.
- Improving the exercise track, field and exercise stations.
- Improving the playground.
- Restoring the habitat.
- Upgrading the riverbank stabilization.
Enhancements to Wallworth Park include the following.
- Constructing a pavilion reflecting the park system's history.
- Upgrading the multi-use bridge and picnic areas.
- Repairing the parking area and field areas.
- Improving the trail.
The upgrades will be completed "over the next few years," Camden County said.
