The trails were closed to due to "potential safety concerns" in April, according to the Medford Township Police Department.
MEDFORD, NJ — Hartford Trails in Medford were reopened to the public, the Medford Township Police Department said on Sunday.
The section of the trails between Hartford Crossing Baseball Complex and the Hartford Road Softball Complex were closed "due to potential safety concerns" and would remain closed "until such time as the trails can be evaluated by a licensed arborist who is qualified to perform tree risk assessment and any hazards are removed," the police department had said on April 25.
Medford crews were said to be taking steps to ensure all access points to the trails in that location were closed off as well, the police department also said on April 25.

Medford did not return Patch's request seeking comment on why the trails were closed and the steps that were taken before reopening.
However, The Pine Barrens Tribune reported in April that dead trees had been spotted along the trails. Some felt that these dead trees were causing a safety hazard, according to the newspaper.
