Teen Killed, Driver Charged In South Jersey Hit-And-Run: Police

A Mount Laurel man is accused of fleeing the scene of an early-morning accident that killed a 16-year-old in Camden County, said police.

CHERRY HILL, NJ —Cherry Hill Police have charged a Mount Laurel man in a hit-and-run that killed a teenage pedestrian earlier in February.

Police say the 16-year-old boy was found suffering from life-threatening injuries near the entrance to Springdale Farm Market at 5 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb, 8. Someone had called police to report a person lying on the side of Springdale Road, officials said.

First responders rushed the victim to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Officials did not identify the boy who died.

Police said an investigation revealed the possible make, model, and year of the vehicle responsible. Cherry Hill Police forwarded information to nearby police departments, and Mount Laurel Police provided a possible location for the suspect vehicle.

Police charged Ronald Pables, 34, with second-degree knowingly leaving the scene of a fatal motor vehicle accident and third-degree endangering the welfare of a victim, according to the CHPD.
