Time Frame For Repairing Historic Cherry Hill Covered Bridge Uncertain
An "optimistic" estimate is 2 weeks, Cherry Hill's Police Chief tells Patch.

CHERRY HILL, NJ — The exact time frame for repairing the historic Scarborough Covered Bridge in Cherry Hill was not certain as of Friday, the Cherry Hill Police Chief told Patch.
The covered bridge was believed to be only one of two still in use in New Jersey until a truck slammed into it on July 27.
"We are being told optimistically that it may be repaired within two weeks," Cherry Hill Police Chief Robert Kempf said in an interview.

"However, there is a lot of variability with that time frame due to the needed lumber for the repairs," he continued. "There were structural beams that were struck and cracked near the roof of the bridge."
In a related matter, the driver of the truck — previously identified as Baljinder Singh of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada — will be issued a summons for leaving the scene of an accident, failure to report an accident and careless driving "in the coming days," according to Kempf.

The driver will also receive a violation notice "for being in that neighborhood with an overweight load," Kempf also said.
