Cop Struck, Seriously Injured In Crash Near Cherry Hill School: Police
The campus police officer sustained 'serious but what we expect to be non-life threatening injuries,' says the township police chief.
CHERRY HILL, NJ â A Cherry Hill campus police officer sustained serious injuries after a vehicle struck him Friday near a school, police said.
The vehicle struck the officer just before 7:15 a.m. at Kresson Road and Oakley Drive, according to law enforcement. The intersection is by Cherry Hill High School East, where he is employed by the Cherry Hill School District as a campus police officer.
The officer sustained "serious but what we expect to be non-life threatening injuries," said Cherry Hill Police Chief Robert Kempf. He was transported to Cooper University Hospital, where he was being treated as of late Friday morning.

Authorities haven't publicly identified the officer or driver.
The officer was hit by a car while directing traffic on Kresson Road, according to a spokesperson for the school district.

The driver remained on-scene and cooperated with the investigation, which is ongoing, Kempf said. No charges have been filed as of noon Friday.
Nobody else sustained injuries, police said.
