Winning Ticket In South Jersey During $1.55B Powerball Drawing
It wasn't the historically large jackpot, which grew to $1.7 billion, but a local lottery player still earned a significant prize.
CHERRY HILL, NJ — One of the largest jackpots in lottery history remained up for grabs after Monday's Powerball drawing. But a local ticketholder earned a substantial prize.
A ticket sold at Walmart (500 Route 38, Cherry Hill) generated $50,000 in the contest, which had an estimated jackpot of $1.55 billion. The ticket was one of five in New Jersey that matched four of the five white balls and the Power Ball for a third-tier prize.
The Powerball jackpot, meanwhile, reached an estimated jackpot of $1.7 billion for Wednesday night's drawing — the second-highest jackpot in U.S. lottery history.
