3 Students At Same Middle School Made Threats In 2 Days: Police
Two 14-year-olds and a 12-year-old were arrested and charged with making threats over a matter of days.

Three students at a Burlington County middle school were charged with making threats to the school within days of each other.
A 12-year-old student in Lumberton Township was charged with making threats to his school, nj.com reports. The student had threatened to bring a gun to school on Tuesday.
Last week, two 14-year-old students were charged with terroristic threats and false public alarm, according to the Lumberton Police Department. In that incident, a student reported that he was threatened by another student after overhearing that student making “alarming comments.”

Further investigation revealed that two students made a threat to be involved in a school shooting, police said. Detectives from the Lumberton Police Department with the cooperation of the school administration quickly identified witnesses of the incident and ultimately identified the suspects. They were both arrested and charged.
“We will always take any threatening statement, made in any context as a legitimate threat, when it comes to the safety of our students,” Lumberton Police Chief Anthony DiLoreto said. “We will work diligently with the school district and community to identify, address and mitigate situation that pertains to our student’s safety.”

The police department and the school district remind residents that if they see something, hear something or have information that jeopardizes the safety of others in the schools or community, they should report it to police and not address in a social media forum.
“Parents talk to you children, support them, encourage open communication and remind them it’s OK to report alarming conduct,” the police department said. “We as a community are committed to keeping our students and staff safe it’s a collected community effort, together we will continue our proactive efforts to ensure our community and school systems offer a safe learning environment for all.”
Lumberton isn’t the only Burlington County district in which multiple students have been arrested for making threats. Two high school students and a middle school student in Evesham Township were arrested for terroristic threats and false public alarm over a one-week period.
